Cory Henry, the charismatic Hammond B3 organ virtuoso of Snarky Puppy fame, proves himself as a singer-songwriter as well with an intoxicating blend of gospel, souljazz, afrobeat and blues.
Cory Henry is not only praised as ‘one of the finest Hammond B3 organ players of his generation’ (AllMusic), but he also has a wonderfully warm gospel voice, as can be heard on his recent album Chapter 1: The Art of Love. For this collection of songs he was inspired by heroes such as Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder.
Cory Henry grew up in the gospel church; he learned playing the Hammond B3 at the age of 2 and he spent days in church playing before the congregation. Nowadays the keyboardist celebrates success with the band Snarky Puppy and his talent has been noticed by many great musicians; he collaborated with The Roots, Bruce Springsteen and Marcus Miller, among others.
