Sagi Rei is an Israeli musician, naturalized Italian, born in Tel Aviv in 1972.
Immersed in the multiple musical influences of his homeland, since he was a child he expresses a great artistic sensibility and it is his mother Nili, musician, who first guesses it. His voice and guitar are the first instruments he learns to know and the discovery of black music and Motown’s soulful soul indelibly mark his musical training (among his references of all time: Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson).
In 2005 the great success: a project of acoustic reinterpretation of some of the most famous dance successes of the Nineties, entitled “Emotional Songs”, immediately wins a large audience. Five years after its publication, “Emotional Songs” has been published in more than 15 countries, including the United States, Canada, Germany and Spain, and is among the 100 best-selling albums in Italy, thanks also to the fame of the single L’amour Toujours (I’ll Fly With You) chosen, in 2009, as musical accompaniment of the very famous INTIMISSIMI advertising spot and entered the ranking of the most downloaded singles in Italy. The song went Gold for the number of copies sold.
In 2006 it was the turn of the “Shining Star” production of Get Far, aka Mario Fargetta, one of the most danced songs in discos all over the world. The worldwide success derived from this song will lead Sagi to perform all over the world (Paraguay, Spain, France, Germany, Russia, Greece, Switzerland …)
In October 2015 the collaboration with Mario Fargetta is renewed with the single “Sing It Loud”, broadcast in rotation by the major Italian radio stations (Radio Deejay, Radio 105, M2O …)
On November 25th 2016 he performed in a double evening at the Blue Note in Milan, where he recorded his first Live record “Emotional Songs Live From Blue Note Milano” released on March 30th 2017 for DIY / Sony. A collection of the most beautiful interpretations of his discography.
On October 3rd 2019, his first album “Original Songs” was released, written together with his wife Elena Tironi, singer and pianist.
