After over fifteen years of career, Brazilian singer-songwriter Céu is widely accepted as one of the most influential and important Brazilian artists of this century and one of the greatest singers of her generation. She began her career in 2005 with her mix of samba-poetry, triphop and electronica and an American Grammy nomination, shortly after changing the scene in her own country by leading a new generation of female singers who write their own songs.
Since her early years, Céu has been touring abroad and played live on four continents, performing at the most important Brazilian festivals including Rock in Rio and Lollapalooza (BRA), as well as Montreal Jazz Festival (CH), North Sea Jazz (NL), Coachella (USA), Roskilde (DK), Jazzopen and Rudolstadt (DE), among others.
With her albums “Tropix” (2016) and “Apká” (2020), Céu won three Latin Grammy’s (she was nominated 9 times for Latin Grammy’s and Grammy’s in her career), besides a couple of Brazilian awards. Céu’s songs also appear across the globe throughout movies, TV series and ads.
During the pandemic, in 2021, Céu released her LP “Acustico” with guitar & vocal versions of her biggest hits. Céu’s new album “Um Gosto de Sol!” (Nov 2021) contains covers of classic songs from Brazilian and international artists such as The Beastie Boys, Jimi Hendrix, Fiona Apple, Joao Gilberto, Rita Lee, Milton Nascimento.
