DownBeat, Jazz Times, The Village Voice and Rolling Stone all agree that saxophonist Joshua Redman is one of a kind, but Pat Metheny said it best [Redman is] “the most important new musician in 20 years.” Redman launched his career with a band of then virtually unknown artists: Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride and Brian Blade. All three have gone on to become legends in the jazz world. After years of working with the likes of The Bad Plus, The Roots and the Rolling Stones, Redman is turning his attention back to promising up-and-comers. He’ll be joining the Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen trio, one of the best european jazz trios to come out in recent years.
