Lively, energetic and with a sophisticated touch, Joyce Elaine Yuille, originally from New York City, has been gracing the European stages for quite sometime. Blessed from an early age with the “gift” of stage presence and the ability to capture an audience’s attention, when she steps on stage with her tall stature and penetrating gaze accompanied by the sensuality of her first vocal notes, one cannot help but be enchanted.
Her vocal style is elegant, mature, and powerful, able to move from a passionate jazz standard to a stripped-down soul or blues melody interpreted with refinement and ease. Over the years, she has graced the stages alongside some of the best jazz musicians and is appreciated by the most prestigious Italian and European jazz festivals and clubs.
For this occasion, Joyce brings a new musical project inclusive of passion, rhythm, jazz, and soul along side a super band.
With musical director saxophonist Michael Rosen, together they represent the pillars of this beautiful new project, full of influences from the greatest traditions of “Black Music”: Jazz, Soul, Blues and Funk. It starts with an exciting and varied repertoire, arranged by Rosen to make the most of Joyce’s sophisticated and gritty voice.
Sharing the stage with them are three great renown artist who each bring indisputable skills, talent and who are also hailing from the New York jazz
scene: pianist Vana Gierig (Ute Lempert, Wynton Marsalis, Rachelle Ferrell, Najee, Lena Horne, Regina Carter), bassist Ameen Saleem (Roy Hargrove, Cyrus Chestnut, Stacy Dillard, The Baylor Project) and drummer Gregory Hutchinson (Betty Carter, Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, Ray Brown, Joe Henderson, Joshua Redman, Peter Bernstein, Jimmy Smith, Arturo Sandoval, John Patitucci)
